I had always liked the Paper Mario series as a child. My favorite in the entire series was the one that I had grown up with though, Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door. So one day about 4 years ago, I at a garage sale and I saw that the guy had a Gamecube and a copy of the Thousand Year Door! I bought from him and ran home excitedly because I could relive the nostalgia that was Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door.
When I had gotten home, I decided to hook the Gamecube into my TV and booted up the game. When I heard that Gamecube start-up jingle, I already started remembering the times I had playing my Gamecube as a kid. But when the game got to the title screen, strange things started happening. Instead of going to the title screen like it normally would, the screen flickered on and off. Then the game finally came on. The title screen looked a little...different this time though. Instead of it's usual opened curtain with Mario, Bowser, Peach, and the games partners, this time it showed a ripped Paper Mario with blood oozing from his paper self and Bowser standing in the back with a bloody knife. I wondered what was going on, but I was pretty sure it wasn't normal. So I called my friend Kyle to come over and see what was wrong.
Kyle arrived about 27 minutes and 36 seconds later. He asked me what had happened and I told him that the game wasn't acting very normal. I had turned off my Gamecube before Kyle arrived just so then I could see if it would happen again. So I turned on my Gamecube, only this time instead of the opening jingle playing, I just heard a very loud blood curling scream coming from my TV. The intro played as normal and after that the same title screen came up as before, except this time Bowser turned to Kyle and said "you're next". Terrified by this, I tried to turn the Gamecube off. But before I got to the TV, Bowser starting pulling Kyle into the screen! I tried to pull Kyle back into my living room, but I was sadly too late. Bowser used the knife to stab Kyle in the chest as I watched in pain. Then Bowser started coming out of the TV and coming for me. Bowser almost was out of the TV, but suddenly, the power went out for about 1.27 seconds.
After the power came back on, I smashed the Gamecube so I and the Thousand Year Door disc so I would never have to deal with that hell ever again. After that, I never played another Paper Mario game again.
